Dr. Tatiana Y. Warren is the President and CEO of Just TATI: Teacher, Author, Trainer, & Innovator
nonprofit organization. Her training, coupled with her faith in Jesus has equipped her with the building
blocks to incorporate public health approaches in promoting healthy lifestyles holistically: mentally,
emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Dr. Tati is a Doctoral graduate of the Department of Exercise Science in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina (USC). She received her BS ('04) and MS ('06) in Exercise Physiology from Syracuse University and was a former student-athlete. Dr. Tati leaping beyond expectations, is most proud of her humble beginnings in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY where she attended Clara Barton High School for Health Professions and graduated in the top 10% of her class in 2001.
Dr. Tati has excelled in and out of the classroom while completing her academic and clinical training. Her passion and enthusiasm for public health is infectious. The NY Times Magazine and other media outlets have recognized Dr. Tati for her research conducted in the area of sedentary behavior and health. She has also been the recipient of a research supplement from National Institutes of Health (NIH): National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
Prior to relocating to the DMV area, Dr. Tati worked as a Research Assistant in the Cancer Prevention & Control Program at USC. She has also worked on research projects addressing health disparities in minority populations and in faith-based settings (SISTAS: Sistas Inspiring Sistas Through Activity & Support and FAN: Faith, Activity, & Nutrition). She also served as a Course Instructor for three years at USC. Ultimately, Dr. Tati wishes to establish a program of research that not only informs public policy but also eventually becomes a nationally disseminated model for improving health in populations most affected (e.g. elderly, women, and ethnic minority groups) by health disparities.
